DAY 6 OF 20

Not a Mistake

Your body can feel like the enemy sometimes. Maybe it's an injury that took you out of the thing you loved. Maybe it's chronic pain. Maybe you just look in the mirror and wish you saw something different.

Our culture doesn't help. Everywhere you look, there's a message about what your body should be, how it should look, what it should do. And when your body doesn't measure up, it's easy to feel like you're walking around in a mistake.

But here's what Romans says: your body isn't a mistake. It's not something to hate or hide. It's not your enemy. Sin wants to use your body to bring harm to you and others, but God wants something different. He wants you to offer your body to Him.

That word "offer" matters. It means your body is a gift you get to give. Not to people who want to exploit it. Not to a culture that wants to objectify it. To God, who made it and loves it and has good plans for it.

You've been brought from death to life. That's not just spiritual. That's physical, too. Your hands, your feet, your voice, your energy—all of it can be used for good. To serve. To create. To love. To build something beautiful.

Your body isn't the problem. Sin is. And because of Jesus, sin doesn't get the final say anymore. You do. Every day, you get to choose what you do with what God gave you.

Question: What's one thing you wish you could change about how you see your body?

Practice: Look at your hands today. Think about one good thing they've done this week. Thank God that your body can be used for His purposes.
