Built Different

DAY 1 OF 20

You're Not an Accident

There's this question a lot of us carry but don't really talk about: Do I actually matter? Not in the motivational poster way. Like, for real. Would anything be different if you just weren't here?

It's honest, especially when you're scrolling, and everyone looks like they've got it all together. Or when you think about how many billions of people there are, and you're like, "I'm literally one person. What's even the point?"

Genesis starts with something wild: you're not an accident. You're not just biology that happened to work out. You were made in God's image. That phrase matters. It means before you did anything, before you achieved something or screwed something up, God put His mark on you. You've got something of Him in you. You can create. You can love in ways that cost you something. You can look at injustice and feel it. You can build things and heal things.

You're not just another organism trying to get by. You're built to reflect the One who made everything. That comes first. Not your grades, not your follower count, not how things ended with your ex.

This isn't a pep talk. It's what's actually true. You were made on purpose, with a purpose.

Question: What would change in how you see yourself if you truly believed you were created in God's image?

Practice: Before you go to sleep tonight, put your hand over your heart and say out loud: "I was made in God's image." Say it again. Let it sink in.
