Bodies Matter to God
Jesus didn't have to come in a body. He could have showed up as a voice, a vision, a burning bush. But He didn't. He became flesh. He took on skin and bones and blood. He got hungry. He got tired. He felt pain.
Why? Because bodies matter to God.
If God thought bodies were just shells we're stuck in until we die, Jesus wouldn't have bothered with one. But He did. He lived in one, died in one, and was resurrected in one. And when He comes back, Scripture says we're getting new bodies too.
That tells you something. Your body isn't just a temporary inconvenience. It's not something to endure until you get to heaven and leave it behind. God cares about it. He designed it. He knows every cell, every scar, every limitation. And He calls it good.
Even when your body feels broken. Even when it's been hurt or used in ways that weren't right. Even when you look at it and wish it were different. God still calls it good. Because it's His.
This changes things. It means taking care of your body isn't shallow or vain. It's honoring what God made. It means using your body for good is actually an act of worship. And it means that what happens to your body matters to God, because you matter to God.
Jesus didn't just save your soul. He saved all of you. Body included.
Question: How would your life change if you really believed your body matters to God?
Practice: Do one thing today that takes care of your body. Drink water. Stretch. Get some sleep. Thank God that your physical health matters to Him.
