When You Don't Feel Like It
Some days, you're not going to feel like you matter. You're going to feel invisible, replaceable, and tired. That's real. This isn't about pretending you're fine when you're not.
But how you feel doesn't change what's true.
You can feel worthless and still be made in God's image. You can feel small and still carry value that's eternal. You can feel forgotten and still be seen by God. Feelings are real, but they shift. Truth doesn't.
Paul wrote this from prison. He'd been beaten, shipwrecked, rejected, and exhausted. He knew what it felt like to be done. And yet, he says, "We do not lose heart." Why? Because even when his body was breaking down, even when everything looked like it was falling apart, something deeper was being renewed.
Same for you. Even on days when you feel like you're barely holding on, God's at work in you. He's not waiting for you to get it together before you matter to Him. You are His. That doesn't change based on how your day's going.
When you don't feel like you're enough, remember: your worth isn't based on how you feel. It's based on who made you and what He says. And He says you're worth everything.
Question: What's one truth you can hold onto when you don't feel valuable?
Practice: When doubt creeps in today, take three deep breaths. With each one, say: "I am made in God's image. That's true whether I feel it or not."
