DAY 19 OF 20

Rest Recharges You

Burnout is real. You can only run on empty for so long before you crash.

And when you crash, it's not pretty. You snap at people. You make bad decisions. You can't focus. You feel like a shell of yourself.

Jesus knows this. That's why He says, "Come to me. I'll give you rest."

Not just physical rest (though you need that too). Soul rest. The kind of rest that doesn't just recharge your body but restores your heart.

You can't pour from an empty cup. You can't love people well when you're exhausted. You can't serve with joy when you're running on fumes.

Rest isn't selfish. It's necessary. It's how you stay healthy enough to keep showing up for the people and purposes God's given you.

And here's the thing: Jesus modeled this. He withdrew. He prayed. He rested. If the Son of God took breaks, what makes you think you don't need them?

Stop glorifying the grind. Stop bragging about how little sleep you got. Stop wearing burnout like a badge of honor.

Rest is a gift. Take it. Not so you can do more tomorrow. Just because you need it.

And when you come to Jesus, weary and burdened, He doesn't hand you a to-do list. He gives you rest. Real rest. The kind your soul is begging for.

Question: What would it look like to actually rest this week?

Practice: Block out time this week to do absolutely nothing productive. Read. Nap. Sit outside. Let yourself rest without guilt.
