DAY 18 OF 20

Sleep and Trust

If you struggle to sleep, this verse might feel like a cruel joke. "Sweet sleep? I haven't had that in months."

But notice what comes before it. The whole chapter is about trusting God. Acknowledging Him. Leaning on His understanding instead of your own.

When you can't sleep, it's usually because your brain won't shut off. You're replaying the day. Stressing about tomorrow. Running through every possible outcome of the thing you can't control.

And underneath all of that is a question: "Can I trust God with this?"

Because if you could, you'd sleep. You'd let it go. You'd hand it over and rest, knowing He's got it.

But trust is hard. Especially when life feels out of control.

Here's the truth: you're not in control. You never were. And that's actually good news. Because the One who is in control loves you, knows you, and is working all things for your good.

When you lie down tonight, your job isn't to figure everything out. Your job is to trust. And when you trust, fear loses its grip. Sleep becomes sweet again.

Not because your problems disappeared. But because you're not carrying them alone.

Question: What's one thing you need to hand over to God before you can sleep well?

Practice: Before bed tonight, write down one worry. Pray over it. Then leave it there. Don't pick it back up.
