Single, Secure, & Thriving

DAY 14 OF 14

GOING BACK TO YOUR FIRST LOVE

One night, surrounded by the quiet of the garden and the beauty of the stars, I realized God had to bring me back—back to Him, my first love. After seven years of singleness, my love for God wavered at times. Life’s challenges—some out of my control and some caused by my own choices—pulled me away.

In singleness, it’s easy to crave love outward, forgetting the love already around us: the love of family, friends, our pets, and most of all, the love of Jesus. Looking back, I wish I had embraced God’s love far more than I did. I overlooked it, took it for granted, and wrestled with believing I was truly lovable.

Returning to your first love can feel daunting. You might ask, “When did I drift away?” The truth is, we wander little by little. And the further we drift, the weaker our desire for God becomes. God brought me here to restore me—to give peace, safety, and clarity. He lifted the fog from my vision and eased the weight I was carrying.

Coming back to your first love means surrendering and starting over. It means praying again, fasting again, dreaming again, and loving again.

This season, God is calling you back to your first love—Himself. Embrace it. Receive the peace, joy, revelation, and understanding He wants to pour into your life. Go back to your first love, sister.

Reflection:

Life can pull us away from our first love, but God’s invitation to return is always open. Surrender, start over, and let Him restore your peace, joy, and purpose. Falling back in love with God is the pathway to clarity, revival, and deeper intimacy with Him.
