Single, Secure, & Thriving

DAY 6 OF 14

SINGLE & FAITHFUL

You might wonder, How does being single and faithful even go together? I’m single — I have nobody to be faithful to! But the truth is, you do. Being faithful to yourself is a vital part of singleness, growth, and personal development. When we honor our word and remain faithful to who God created us to be, we empower ourselves.

Faithful to Yourself
Being faithful to yourself looks different for everyone, but a key part is keeping your word. How many times have we said, “I’ve learned my lesson”, only to fall back into the same patterns? For me, it was men, validation, and sex. I would tell myself, “I won’t go there again — I know where it leads,” yet I kept repeating the cycle. I knew the truth, but I struggled to stay faithful to the better version of me.

Faithful in Singleness Prepares You for Marriage
If we can’t be faithful in our singleness, we won’t be faithful in marriage. Our future relationships are built on the foundation of the habits and faithfulness we practice now. Being faithful to yourself now will naturally lead to faithfulness to others later.

Faithful to the Father
Most importantly, we must be faithful to God. That small inner voice — the one saying, “Don’t go there… Be careful… Don’t settle…” — is the Holy Spirit guiding us. Faith grows when we hear God’s Word and obey:

“Let Him go."

“Stop settling.”
“You deserve more.”
“You are enough.”

“Leave the old behind.”

Obedience ignites faith and transforms your singleness into a powerful season of growth.

Today, remember: singleness is a season to practice faithfulness — to God, to yourself, and to His leading. Ask yourself: Are there areas where you haven’t been faithful? Eating habits, letting go, guarding your words, or honoring God’s voice? Whatever it is, you can always start again.

Being faithful to the better version of you allows your singleness to become life-changing.

Reflection:

Singleness is a season to practice faithfulness — to God, to yourself, and to His calling on your life. When you honor your word, listen to God’s guidance, and choose the better version of yourself, your singleness becomes a powerful season of growth and preparation. Being faithful now equips you for the blessings and relationships God has ahead.
