Single, Secure, & Thriving

DAY 13 OF 14

MADE FOR MORE

Sitting at my desk in my quiet office, surrounded by sticky notes and a long to-do list, I can’t help but feel the weight of my responsibilities. At times, these tasks feel like burdens, but I have to remind myself: I prayed for this. I prayed and believed that God created me for more. I knew that my past lifestyle — filled with sin, drinking, and unhealthy habits — wasn’t all there was for me. Even at 22, I sensed that God had called me to a greater purpose than I was currently living.

Now, over eight years later, I have clarity. What I once called burdens are actually God’s blessings. The long to-do list isn’t a weight dragging me down — it’s God opening doors and gifting me opportunities. Maybe you look at your life and feel overwhelmed by responsibilities or areas where you feel you fall short. I challenge you to shift your perspective:

  • You’re not lost; you’re finding yourself.
  • You’re not behind in life; you’re right on track for this season.
  • You’re not experiencing a midlife crisis; you’re having a midlife awakening.
  • You’re not walking alone; you’re walking by faith, not by sight.
  • You’re not burdened; you’re overwhelmed by answered prayers.

Our hardships take on a new name when we realize the areas we’re navigating now are the very things we once prayed for.

Years ago, I prayed for more of God — He gave me healing.
I prayed to help women — He gave me a ministry.
I prayed for happiness — He moved me closer to family.
I prayed for peace — He removed toxic things from my life.
I prayed for guidance — He brought new people into my life.
I prayed for my dreams — He sent seasons of challenge that required me to step up.

I share this because I don’t want you to let your blessings feel like burdens or overlook answered prayers. There were times I felt overwhelmed by loneliness, ministry, and forgetting that what felt heavy was actually an answered prayer.

Your burdens, hardships, setbacks, and lonely seasons aren’t signs that God has abandoned you — they are evidence that God has made you for more.

Reflection:

What feels like a burden today may actually be a blessing in disguise. Every responsibility, challenge, and crisis is an answered prayer in disguise — a sign that God is shaping you, opening doors, and calling you to more. Shift your perspective, trust His timing, and embrace the growth He is bringing through every season.

Single, Secure, & Thriving

Singleness is truly a gift—a season not to waste, but to lean into with intention and faith. This is a time to lock in with God, grow in wisdom, and discover who you are without distraction. It’s not just powerful; it’s purposeful. And I don’t believe it’s an accident that you’re here. Something in you is craving a fresh perspective, a new way to view this season of your life. God has something new, something life-giving, waiting for you. This is your moment to lean in, trust Him deeply, and embrace the journey ahead with confidence and expectancy.
