WAITING OR BECOMING?
Are you waiting, or are you becoming? I ask because I once lived in the waiting. I waited on my future husband to travel, to grow, to be happy…all while putting my own dreams on hold. I told myself, “I’ll chase my goals once I’m married.” That was my mindset — waiting became my default in every area of life.
But God taught me something powerful: He never called me to wait in the sense of staying stagnant. I was called to become — to grow into the woman He created me to be, His bride in the fullest sense.
Scripture tells us that an unmarried woman’s focus should be on the Lord (1 Cor. 7:34). Yet we often think that good deeds or patience will automatically bring the right man. In truth, God wants us to focus on growth, healing, and purpose. Marriage is a beautiful desire, but it should never stop you from becoming who God has called you to be.
I wasted years waiting for a man to save me when God was my Savior. I waited for a man to love me when God’s love surrounded me every single day. I waited when I should have been becoming.
To become means to bring into existence — and that’s exactly what God desires for us. He wants to bring our gifts, our talents, and our opportunities into full bloom. When we focus on becoming the woman God shows us we are, waiting fades away, and living fully begins.
Today, Daughter, stop waiting. Stop pausing your life for someone else. Start becoming the woman God created you to be.
Reflection:
Too often, we pause our lives, waiting for someone else to complete us. But God never called us to wait — He called us to become. Becoming means growing, healing, and stepping into the purpose He has for us. When we focus on who God is shaping us to be, waiting fades, and a full, abundant life begins. Today, choose to stop waiting and start becoming.
