Rescued: God's Grace for the Hardest Parts of Your StorySample

“…David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife…”
—Matthew 1:6 NIV
Bathsheba’s name reappears generations later, in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Her story, though marred by betrayal, grief, and loss, was not erased. God chose to weave her into the very lineage of the Savior of the world.
That’s redemption. That’s rescue.
Sister, do you see it? Bathsheba’s pain was not the end; it was a chapter in a much greater story. The same is true for you. Your brokenness does not disqualify you from God’s plan. In fact, God can take the very scars you wish weren’t there and use them as testimony of His rescuing love.
When you feel forgotten, remember Bathsheba. When you feel disqualified, remember her name was written into Jesus’ story. And so is yours.
God has rescued you with His love—not just to heal your heart, but to make your story part of His.
Journal Prompt:
How does knowing your story can be part of God’s redemptive plan change the way you view your past?
Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for rescuing me with Your love. Write my story into Yours. Use my scars to point others to Your healing, and let my life be a living testimony that nothing is beyond Your redemption. Amen."

About this Plan

Rescued is a 7-day devotional written by Ginia Bishop, author of GRACE TO START OVER: YOU ARE WORTHY OF A NEW BEGINNING, for the woman who finds herself in a dark valley, carrying wounds she never asked for, and pain she can’t seem to shake. Like Bathsheba, maybe you’ve endured betrayal, loss, or moments that turned your world upside down. You’ve buried tears, questioned God, and wondered if He truly sees you. This plan reminds you that He does.
