Life Hacks

DAY 5 OF 14

A few days ago, we mentioned how Spiderman had powers. If you haven’t seen the Spiderman: Homecoming movie, here’s a quick note without any spoilers involved. Iron Man is almost a mentor role to Spiderman. Only, Tony Stark has arrogance in his power and isn’t all that great of a mentor. All that Peter Parker wants is for “Iron Man” to tell him “good job” or “I’m proud of you, kid” or “Welcome to the Avengers.” Spidey is performing to earn Stark’s approval, even if it’s just a word or two. A few simple words can decimate someone. Likewise, it only takes a few to build them up!  Toward the end of the movie, Tony Stark encourages Peter Parker with something along the lines of “good job.” It was all Peter needed to hear!  What would happen if we used the power of our words to be someone’s superhero? What would happen if, in two or three words, we could change the trajectory of someone’s life? Jesus speaks the words of “Peace. Be still” and can calm a storm. What if we could just speak three easy words to help calm someone’s storm? Maybe they would even be words that Jesus has spoken to us….

“You are forgiven.”

“You are loved.”

“Come to me.”

“It is finished.”

“Peace. Be Still.”

Becoming more like Jesus looks like using the power of our tongue to become someone else’s superhero. Who can you be a superhero to this week?

About this Plan

Life Hacks

Sometimes we might look for hacks to increase our gamer status or find a secret path to success. In life, hacks might come in handy to figure out how we can become more successful. The best way to do that is acquiring wisdom on our walk with Jesus.
