Life Hacks

DAY 3 OF 14

There’s a common saying that’s honestly just not all that true. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” If you’ve  spoken to more than a few humans, you’ve probably witnessed someone’s words hurt someone else. If you’re being honest with yourself, you’ve probably even hurt someone with your words a few times. Have you ever noticed a bully? They can just absolutely destroy someone verbally. They’ll make fun of them, gossip about them or just rip them apart. It’s interesting because sometimes the person they’re bullying might be incited to retaliate. It may even escalate from a verbal confrontation to a physical one! It seems like that’s when someone jumps in to break it up. It’s almost as if they’re unintentionally saying that physical violence is more important to stop than verbal abuse. Now this is no recommendation to stop talking trash and to start throwing fists. Shouldn’t we stop the altercation even when it’s just a verbal one? Is physical violence really that much worse than verbal abuse? They’re both terrible if we’re being honest. If we considered our negative words like we do throwing a punch, I think we’d be a bit slower to speak hate. How can you avoid partaking in verbal abuse? If you hear it happening, how can you step in and break it up?

About this Plan

Life Hacks

Sometimes we might look for hacks to increase our gamer status or find a secret path to success. In life, hacks might come in handy to figure out how we can become more successful. The best way to do that is acquiring wisdom on our walk with Jesus.
