DAY 4 OF 10

The Bible — God’s Word for Real Life

The Bible isn’t just an old religious book. It’s God’s living Word, and it speaks directly into your everyday life. It's our friendships, our struggles, our decisions, and our future.

Paul says Scripture is God-breathed — which means when you read it, God is actually speaking. Jesus says the person who hears His words and obeys them is like someone who builds on solid rock. When the storms come — and they will — that foundation holds.

You don’t need to read it perfectly. You just need to read it honestly and let it shape you from the inside out.

2 Timothy 3:14–17

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Matthew 7:24–27

"Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

RESPOND

Read: 2 Timothy 3:14–17 | Matthew 7:24–27 | Psalm 119:105

  1. What do these passages tell you about what the Bible actually is?
  2. Paul says Scripture equips us for "every good work." What areas of your life do you most need God's Word to speak into right now?
  3. Jesus contrasts two builders — one who obeys and one who only listens. What's the difference, and why does it matter?
  4. What has been your relationship with the Bible up until now?
  5. What would it look like to build a simple, consistent habit of reading Scripture?
