DAY 5 OF 10

Church as Spiritual Family

Church is not a building. It’s not a Sunday event. It’s a family.

In Acts 2, the early believers didn’t just attend meetings — they shared meals, looked after each other, and celebrated what God was doing together. The result? People were saved daily. That’s what happens when a family actually lives like one.

God never designed faith to be a solo experience. Hebrews 10 says don’t stop meeting together — because we need each other to stay sharp, stay encouraged, and stay faithful.

You now belong to something bigger than yourself. Don’t do this alone.

Acts 2:42–47

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Hebrews 10:24–25

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Ephesians 2:19

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household.

  3. Hebrews 10 says, "Don't give up meeting together." Why do you think that warning is necessary?
  4. What has your experience of church or Christian community been like so far?
  5. What is one practical way you could invest in your spiritual family this week?
