DAY 6 OF 10

Holy Spirit — Power and Presence

The Holy Spirit isn’t a feeling or a concept. He’s God — living in you.

Jesus promised to send Him as an advocate: someone who helps, guides, and stays with you forever. At Pentecost, the disciples were filled with the Spirit, and everything changed — they went from hiding in a room to turning cities upside down.

That same Spirit lives in you. He gives you power, but He also invites you into genuine friendship — what Paul calls fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Ask Him to fill you today. He loves to fill His children when they ask.

John 14:15–17

"If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you."

Acts 1:8

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Acts 2:1–4

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

2 Corinthians 13:14

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

RESPOND

Read: John 14:15–17 | Acts 1:8 | Acts 2:1–4 | 2 Corinthians 13:14

  1. What do these passages teach you about who the Holy Spirit is?
  2. Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as an advocate — someone who helps and stays with you. How does that land with you personally?
  3. Acts 1:8 connects the Holy Spirit directly to being a witness. What do you think that connection means for your everyday life?
  4. What does fellowship with the Holy Spirit mean to you, and does that feel real or distant right now?
  5. Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. What do you sense or feel as you do that?
