This Is WhySample

What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten? Your all-time favorite meal or dish? The one you still talk about, dream about, maybe even attempt to eat as often as you can? Maybe it’s the decadent dessert you love to have as a treat. Maybe it’s the meal you had at a five-star restaurant. Maybe it’s something simple from your local favorite place. Or maybe it’s something your family made growing up that’s your go-to comfort food.
If you have, then you probably do exactly what most people do when they love something. You probably say something like, “This is so good. You have to try it!” It’s a similar sentiment that the writer of this psalm was offering here. He’d experienced the Lord Himself. He’d seen the gifts of God’s goodness and the comfort of taking refuge in Him. He knew it because he experienced it. And that’s why he wanted others to taste and see the same. He was essentially writing, “You have no idea how good this God is. You’ve got to come, and see, and experience it for yourself.” This invitation is the framework for sharing our faith. We’re not arguing, or convincing, or debating. We’re simply sharing the experience of God’s goodness with others. Because when something is that good, you just can’t keep it to yourself.
Who can you invite this week to taste and see that the Lord is good?

About this Plan

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
