This Is WhySample

One of the best examples we have of someone who excelled in sharing the good news of Christ with others is Paul. His experience with Jesus changed his life completely, and because of that, he dedicated his life to making sure others knew about God. He started churches, traveled to share the message of Christ, and wrote letters to other believers to encourage and teach them when he was away. So much of the New Testament we have today is made up of these letters meant to encourage fellow believers in their own faith.
Here, in this excerpt from a letter to the Colossians, we find one of Paul’s best prayers for believers then and for us still today. His prayer is that we would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will for our lives. That we would have the wisdom and understanding from His Spirit to live it out. In other words, that we would experience what God wants to do in our lives in real ways. Because our faith is built on both knowledge and experience with God, Paul’s prayer hits home. It’s a prayer to grow our faith and to encourage us to pray for others in the same way.
This week, use this verse as a guide for your prayers. Say it over yourself first and repeat it with someone specific in mind, who you want to experience God in a real, tangible way as well.

About this Plan

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
