Forgiven and Healed

DAY 6 OF 7

Offence Is a Snare

Examine yourself honestly. Do you find it difficult to extend grace? Do you hold people to standards you cannot consistently meet yourself? If so, it may indicate that you have not fully received the grace of God.

Freedom begins with forgiveness. You forgive yourself and others. You release people and extend grace for their failures.

When someone hurts you, a snare is set before you. You have to decide to insist on your rights, thereby taking the bait, or rise above the offense by love, escaping the snare. You see, Offense is not accidental; it is one of satan’s strategies against the child of God. The devil knows how crippling unforgiveness is and he works overtime to ensnare God’s people with vexations. Whether it is a careless remark, betrayal, dishonor, rejection, or disappointment, the opportunity for offence presents itself in all relationships. It often comes from someone you trusted or were vulnerable with.

Every relationship carries the possibility of hurt. That is reality. To be human and connected to others is to risk disappointment. Avoiding relationships is not the solution. Neither is emotional withdrawal.

The solution is placement. We must learn to place people in their proper place, and give God his rightful place in our hearts. When we assign to people the place that only God should occupy in our hearts, we set ourselves up for emotional collapse. No human being can sustain the weight of ultimate trust.

Love people genuinely. Be authentic. But do not elevate them beyond their capacity. When hurt comes, the enemy’s objective is offence. Once offence is taken, the snare tightens. But when you release, the snare breaks. Forgiveness protects the soul.

Love and forgiveness are not conditions for healing. They’re part of your Healing which was secured in redemption. Forgiveness is your participation in freedom. It keeps your heart clear and your mind stable.

Refuse the snare. Forgive quickly and Release the hurt.

About this Plan

Forgiven and Healed

Forgiveness and healing are not separate promises. They flow together from the same finished work of Christ. In this 7 day devotional, we trace the covenant thread from Isaiah to Galatians and see how redemption answers the curse of the law. Through Scripture, this plan establishes that sickness is not divine punishment and that righteousness has already been imputed through Christ. As we receive forgiveness fully, we are freed from guilt, legalism, and self accusation. As we release offence and extend grace, we walk in the liberty secured for us in redemption.
