Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice (John 10:4 NKJV).
Are you leading by example?
In 1 Peter 5:6-7, the old Apostle urges believers to live in humility, casting their cares on God, who cares deeply for them. This humility is vital, as it positions us to receive God’s grace, keeping us dependent on Him instead of trusting on our strength.
Pride can easily creep into our lives, making us feel we can handle things independently, but God calls us to a different way. By humbling ourselves and entrusting our burdens to Him, we find that He lifts us up and strengthens us. Today, lay down your pride and accept God’s care, for He loves you deeply.
Employment Point: Model Christlike character worthy of imitation.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
