Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers (1 Peter 4:7 NKJV).
To whom do you turn for security?
Ezekiel 38 describes a future invasion against Israel during the apocalypse, with nations gathering to attack, but God assures He will fight for His people. This prophecy illustrates that we, too, may face spiritual battles or opposition as Christians. 1 Peter 4:12-19 reminds us that we shouldn’t be surprised by trials but should rejoice in them, as they refine our faith and bring us closer to Christ.
Opposition and trials are inevitable, but we’re not alone. God stands with us, defending and strengthening us as we hold fast to our faith. When challenges arise, know that they are opportunities for God’s power to be revealed in your life.
Employment Point: Remain spiritually alert by prayerfully trusting in Jesus for your security.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
