Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14 NKJV).
Does your walk match your talk?
Saying you walk with God is easy… living it out is hard. John warns that a Christian claiming fellowship with God while walking in darkness is living in sin. God is pure light, and He calls us to live in His truth. When we walk in His light, we enjoy fellowship with others and the cleansing of Jesus’ blood (1 John 1:7).
What does your life say about your relationship with God? Are your choices and actions aligned with His holiness? Being in the light doesn’t mean you’re perfect, but it does mean you’re transparent and striving to grow.
Take inventory of your actions today. What needs to change so your walk reflects walking in the light?
Employment Point: Fellowship with God by remaining in His light.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
