Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 330 OF 365

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1 NKJV).

Will you obey God and speak to the dead?

In Ezekiel 37, the prophet sees a valley of dry bones—representing the spiritual death of Israel— however, these dead bones are brought to life by God’s command. This miraculous transformation is a powerful picture of what God can do in us. Even the most desolate, hopeless situations can be restored by His Spirit.

Peter embraces this concept in 1 Peter 3, where he speaks of Christ bringing us from death to life through His resurrection, enabling us to live for righteousness (1 Peter 3:18). Wherever there is brokenness, God’s Spirit can bring life.

Do you have areas in your life that feel lifeless or beyond hope? Surrender them to God, and let His power breathe new life and purpose into you. Just as He brought Israel’s dry bones to life, He can renew and restore you.

Employment Point: Proclaim the gospel, expecting God to give life to the spiritually dead.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
