Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 327 OF 365

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted (Galatians 6:1 NKJV).

Am I my brother’s keeper?

We all have times when we see someone struggling spiritually or falling into temptation. Do we turn away, or do we reach out a hand? James 5 says, “if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back... he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins” (James 5:19–20 NKJV).

It’s not just a duty but a privilege to stand beside someone in their struggle, pointing them back to Jesus. Even Peter, who was a friend of James, denied Christ, but was later restored and called to strengthen his brothers (see Luke 22:32). Love others by holding them up when they’re weak. God can use you as His hands and voice to lift someone back onto the right path.

Employment Point: Seek to restore stumbling saints to Jesus.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
