Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves (James 1:22 NKJV).
Are you truly living according to the Book?
In Ezekiel 20, God reminds Israel of His care for them and their call to live differently. He told them, “I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them” (Ezekiel 20:11 NKJV). Israel failed to learn from their history, often falling back into old sins. God desires not just hearers of His Word, but doers—people who live out His instructions daily.
James echoes this: “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it… this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:25 NKJV). Let’s not be forgetful hearers but committed doers of the Word, actively seeking His blessings by living according to His commands.
Employment Point: Hear and heed God’s Word for His blessing.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
