In Ezekiel 18, the prophet warned Israel about the consequences of disobedience, declaring, “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4, 20 NKJV). Each person is responsible for their actions. However, God also provides us with wise Christian leaders to help steer us in the right direction. Hebrews 13 reminds us, “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls” (Hebrews 13:17 NKJV).
We each have people in our lives tasked with helping us grow in faith. Honor the guidance and correction they offer, for God placed them there to care for your soul. Remember, they labor with joy when you listen, and it’s a blessing to them—and to you—when you heed their counsel.
