Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31 NKJV).
How perilous is it to willfully ignore Jesus’ sacrifice?
Choosing to ignore Jesus’ sacrifice has a price. The writer of Hebrews warns us in Hebrews 10 that rejecting Jesus after knowing the truth leads to a fearful expectation of judgment (see Hebrews 10:26–27).
Just as Judah in Ezekiel’s time ignored God’s warnings and sinned recklessly, we’re reminded of the same danger today. Turning from Jesus is like closing the door to God’s mercy and grace, leading to judgment we could have escaped.
Let’s take the call to turn from sin seriously. Turning back to God isn’t just a one-time decision but a daily choice.
Employment Point: Turn from your sin to Jesus, believing upon His sacrifice for your salvation.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
