Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God (Hebrews 10:12 NKJV).
Do you need to say “encore” to Jesus concerning His sacrifice for sin?
In Ezekiel, the priests kept up their sacrifices despite Israel’s sin. God’s presence gradually left Israel, symbolizing His displeasure with their hard hearts (Ezekiel 3:7).
Today, Jesus has completed the work, sitting at God’s right hand as the perfect sacrifice, once for all. He doesn’t need to “try harder” or “do more” because He’s done it all.
Rather than asking for what we already have in Christ, let’s draw near to Him, trusting in His once-and-for-all redemption.
Employment Point: Draw near to the only High Priest who fully accomplished the work of redemption.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
