Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides (Psalm 119:90 NKJV).
What does God expect from His servants?
Paul tells the Corinthians to view him and other apostles as “servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (1 Corinthians 4:1 NKJV). The Greek term for “servants” later came to be used of galley slaves who rowed in the bottom tier of a ship. With humility, Paul describes himself and his fellow apostles in this manner. The bondservant of Christ continues, “Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV). This mindset should shape how we view our service to God.
Take a few moments and think about how you are using your gifts and serving others. Are you a faithful steward of the gifts and responsibilities God has given you? I pray that you are.
Employment Point: Serve the Lord faithfully and with humility.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
