Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one (1 Corinthians 2:15 NKJV).
Are you growing spiritually?
Paul started the Corinthian church around AD 51 and wrote to them about five years later. He found them still “carnal,” meaning they were acting like those who were not spiritually mature. They were filled with “envy, strife, and divisions,” showing they hadn’t grown as they should have. They needed to cleanse their ways.
The psalmist asks in Psalm 119:9 (NKJV), “How can a young man cleanse his way?” He answers that the path to spiritual growth is by following God’s Word, seeking Him wholeheartedly, and hiding His Word in your heart. The Corinthians needed to follow these principles to mature spiritually.
Take a moment to examine your own life. Are you growing in your walk with the Lord by becoming more obedient to His Word? Are you actively seeking God and applying His Word in your life?
Employment Point: Apply what you’ve learned from the Bible to become mature.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
