Into the Clouds from Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:4-12

Note to the parents:

Jesus gives a lot of instructions in this story, but it’s okay to focus on His main command: tell everyone the Good News about His love and forgiveness.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• Where did Jesus take His disciples?
• Where did Jesus go? Will He come back?
• Did Jesus say to keep Him a secret or tell others about Him?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God sent Jesus as the only way for people to be with Him again.
• He called Jesus back to heaven so that the next part of His plan for us could happen.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People who love Jesus are a big part of God’s continued plan!
• Jesus made the way back to God.
• Now people like me—and you, too—must share Jesus’ love and truth with others.

What did we learn about JESUS?

• Jesus went back home to heaven.
• He told us to continue His work by telling others about Him.
• He will come back when the time is right.
