Everybody’s Welcome! from Acts 10

Note to the parents:

You don’t have to have all the explanations, definitions, or fully understand everything yourself. Let God’s Word speak on its own. All you need to do is share it with your child.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• What do you remember about Cornelius?
• What was on the huge sheet in Peter’s vision?
• What did Peter say he learned from his vision?
• Does God only love certain people?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God’s plan was always to save EVERYONE through Jesus, not just the people of Israel.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People from every nation, color, and background are welcome in God’s family.

What did we learn about JESUS?

• Jesus died so that all people can be forgiven and brought near to God again.

What do you want to say to God after reading this story? (Prayer)

God,

Thank You for sending Jesus so that I can be part of Your family.

Help me to love everyone the way You do, even when they are different from me.
