From Enemy to Friend from Acts 9:1-19

Note to the parents:

Children may become worried that their sin, mistakes, and bad choices are unforgivable. But in this story, we learn that there is nothing anyone can do that God cannot forgive.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• Who surrounded Saul with light and spoke to him?
• What happened to Saul after Ananias prayed for him?
• How did meeting Jesus change Saul?
• What was Saul’s name changed to?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God changes our hearts so that we can live like Jesus.
• God changed Paul from hating the people who followed Jesus to teaching everyone about Jesus and God’s way of living.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People do not change on their own. We need God’s help.
• God’s Holy Spirit helps us to learn His ways and live more like Jesus.

What did we learn about JESUS?

• Jesus said that hurting His followers hurt Him, too!
• Jesus hurts when we hurt, but His Holy Spirit comforts us.
