A Happy Sunday from Mark 16:1-4; Matthew 28:5-8; John 20:3-10; Luke 24:1-12, 36-49

Note to the parents:

It’s important to remember that Jesus’ death on the cross was not a defeat. It was God’s plan. This is why it’s crucial to pair the story of Jesus’ death with the story of His resurrection. Death was not the end of the story—Jesus is alive today!

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• What did the women find when they came to the tomb?
• What did the angels tell the women?
• Later, how did the disciples know that Jesus was raised from the dead?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God had a plan to save us from our sins.
• Jesus’ resurrection—becoming alive again—was always part of God’s plan.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People are often surprised by God’s plans.
• People can be forgiven of their sins if they turn to God and trust in Jesus as their Savior.

What did we learn about JESUS?

• Jesus came back to life after dying on the cross!
• He is alive today!
