Walking in His Purpose: Finding Strength and Blessings in God’s CallSample

Trusting in the Unfailing Promises of God
Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Once again, the Lord appeared to Abraham, delivering a message that would shake the very foundation of their faith. He told Abraham that Sarah would bear a son within the following year, but when Sarah overheard this, she laughed in disbelief.
At first glance, Sarah’s laughter may seem natural; after all, she was well beyond the age of childbearing, and her body had long since ceased functioning in that way. Both she and Abraham were old, and in their eyes, it seemed impossible for them to bear a child. But God’s purpose at this moment was to show that nothing is too complicated for Him.
God does not need the earthly prerequisites we often consider necessary for miracles. When He promises something, it is as good as done. However, as believers, we usually find ourselves limited by our understanding of earthly circumstances. Like Sarah, we look at our situation and laugh in disbelief, convinced that the impossible is beyond God’s reach.
Sarah’s laughter was not born from joy but doubt as she considered her body's physical limitations. She laughed to herself, trying to mask her disbelief, and even went so far as to lie to God, saying she had not laughed. Yet, God saw right through her and knew her thoughts and heart. He gently but firmly corrected her, declaring, “Yes, you did laugh.”
This moment offers us a crucial lesson:
• Avoid disbelief based on the limitations of our circumstances.
• Refrain from lying or hiding our doubts before God.
• Do not underestimate God’s power.
Nothing is impossible for God. If you are facing what seems to be an impossible situation, whether it’s infertility, a serious illness, or any other challenge, remember that God’s promises are always true. They are not dependent on our limitations or the world’s standards. He is the living God, and His power knows no bounds.
In those moments when His promises seem too fantastic to believe, choose to accept them with faith. Praise Him even when His blessings seem unbelievable. Trust in His unfailing word.
Prayer: Sovereign Lord, protect me from unbelief, primarily when I focus too much on the constraints of this world. I acknowledge that nothing is impossible for You. Help me to trust in Your promises and believe in Your power, no matter the circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
