Thomas Jefferson was instrumental during the founding of this great nation, and he was full of much applicable wisdom, as can be gleaned from today’s quote. Such a quaint truth, which is easily visible to all, yet which is simple to miss in the busy stream of life. 

Light is high on God’s list of importance, so it should be high on ours as well. After creating the physical universe, light was next on His list! (Genesis 1:1-3) Jesus informs us in today’s Bible verse that we are not to hide our light, but let it shine for all to see! We must bring light to those that are in darkness, so that they too may not only receive it, but be bearers of the light as well.

So, for today, let us be kind to all we meet and sow seeds of love. Let us smile with the radiance of God’s eternal light so that others may receive, and spread, the joy of our Creator. Let us use the light that was so freely given to us to light a darkened soul, so they may in turn light the next man, and so on, and so forth, into Eternity.
