A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The Ages

DAY 30 OF 42

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

-Thomas Edison-

Thomas Edison, who acquired an astounding 1,093 patents during his lifetime, knew a thing or two about the value of hard work. He has something in common with God too, as he helped bring light to the world with the introduction of the light bulb!

God values hard work as well, as can be seen in today’s Bible verse. Although we are saved by faith and grace (Ephesians 2:8), we were CREATED for good works! The Christian life is not one of laziness and drifting purposeless through life. We must produce good works if we expect to be rewarded. (1 Corinthians 3:12-15) These deeds are not a condition of salvation, but they are a definite result of God’s saving power producing fruit in our lives.

So, for today, let us pursue everything we put our hands to with diligence, inspiration, and a strong desire to do the best job we can. Let us keep our eyes open for every opportunity to serve others and spread God’s love through good works. Let us not be afraid to use our minds, our muscles, or our abilities to make this world a little bit more like God’s Kingdom on earth. Let us rest in the spirit, and allow God to work THROUGH us, as He works ON us, and perfects us in His image.

About this Plan

A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The Ages

There is an unbreakable law of history. That which has happened before will happen again, if the same ingredients are present.  Looking at the lessons of history through the lens of God's word will provide us with the best ingredients to give us a God centered life. It is truly a recipe for success!
