A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The AgesSample

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I should do, and with the help of God, I will do!”
-Everett Hale-
Today’s message is extremely powerful. Everett Hale knew one of the most important secrets to success in our daily walk. He knew that there were times when he may need to act physically alone and do the right thing. He also knew that he wasn’t truly alone, however. He recognized that it was God’s help that made his success possible.
Today’s Bible verse expresses the same thing, but with much more vivid imagery! Elisha’s servant thought that they too were alone. But the prophet’s prayer was answered mightily as God opened up the dimensions of heaven and showed them the angelic army that was battling on their side! We are never alone when we are doing God’s will, and that is a rock-solid promise! He describes His angels as the wind, and as flames of fire! (Hebrews 1:7)
So, for today, let us never feel as if we’re alone, especially if faced with a tough moral decision. Let us see the invisible, and know that there are multitudes of angels surrounding us on all sides, protecting us from evil. Let us make the right choices, and act according to God’s will, even in the face of persecution. God has our back, our fronts, and everything in between!
