Franklin Roosevelt was president during one of the most trying times, not just for our country, but for the entire world. This quote from one of his most rousing speeches exemplifies the resilience that was necessary to face the evils of World War II head on. His words are truly an example of how we must look at our spiritual battle, which is against a much deadlier foe, Satan himself. His goal is to kill, steal, devour, and destroy. (John 10:10, 1 Peter 5:8)

The apostle Paul simply says to refrain from giving the devil a foothold. We must draw the line and show Satan that he will not have us, he will not have our children, and he will not have our lives. There is only one way to do this. We must submit to God, and resist the devil. (James 4:7) Only then will he cower away and flee from us.

So, for today, let us give our all to God. Let us not hold back one inch of our lives from his loving care. Let us continue, steadfast in faith, knowing that He will see us through all temptations. Let us say no to Satan, and yes to God. This is a choice we must make every moment of every day. Choose life eternal. (Deuteronomy 30:19)
