A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The AgesSample

“To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.”
-George Washington-
George Washington, the physical father of our great nation, showed extreme wisdom through the words we have quoted from him today. He knew that one must always be on guard against our enemies and be prepared for battle if peace is to be preserved.
The battle we face as Christians is very similar to the physical wars our world tragically sees all too often. Our foe, as we have seen, is a spiritual one however. We must prepare for this battle on a daily basis, because Satan never rests. Only when we are prepared will we have peace. It is our responsibility to make sure we put on the full armor of God everyday so we can stand against the devil’s techniques, as today’s Bible verse shows. (Ephesians 6:10-20)
The key to our spiritual war, and to peace, is prayer. We must fight daily in our prayer closets as we cry out to God for strength, wisdom, and for His spirit to live in us. It is prayer that guards our hearts, and grants us peace. (Philippians 4:6-7)
So, for today, let us lift up our hearts to our Heavenly Father and prepare for our spiritual war. Let us gain strength and peace right from the source, through a close, personal relationship with Him. Let us put on the only armor that will succeed, and claim the victory in Christ Jesus.
