Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called (Ephesians 4:1).
Is your Christian walk matching your heavenly status?
Eight times Paul uses the term "walk" in Ephesians. Since believers positionally sit with Jesus in heaven (Ephesians 1:3; 2:6), we are not to walk according to this world's system (Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17), and should be a redeemed people practicing good works (Ephesians 2:10). Moreover, we are to walk in love (Ephesians 5:2) and light (Ephesians 5:8) circumspectly (Ephesians 5:15). The child of God is also to endeavor "to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). We have an example to follow in the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have a perfect oneness (Ephesians 4:4-6), and we are to model that same unity. Let's live according to our elevated status as God's children, not imitating the world but the Lord.
Employment Point: Walk worthily of your heavenly calling.
