Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD (Isaiah 38:2).
Where do you turn when you have a personal health crisis?
King Hezekiah trusts in the Lord as the entire nation experiences an imminent threat from the powerful king of Assyria (Isaiah 37:1). God honors Hezekiah's faith and supernaturally delivers His people. Next, the king suffers from failing health and nears death (Isaiah 38:1). Once again he draws close to the Lord, seeking to have his health restored (Isaiah 38:2-3). The giver and sustainer of life graciously imparts fifteen additional years to the king and confirms this with a sign on the sundial (Isaiah 38:8). Unfortunately, Hezekiah doesn't use that time wisely and seemingly becomes self-centered (Isaiah 39:8). Unlike Asa who didn't seek the Lord during a physical illness (2 Chronicles 16:12), Hezekiah does. Yet the Lord is to be trusted unto death.
Employment Point: Trust the Lord during a personal health crisis, and until He calls you home.
