Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted (Galatians 6:1).
Am I my brother’s keeper?
Paul addresses the Galatian believers as “brethren” nine times in this epistle. The implication is that since all Christians are eternally related then we have a responsibility to one another. When a growing Christian observes a fellow believer who has stumbled in his faith, we are to “restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness.” The apostle commands us to help the fallen family member. “Restore” is a present imperative and the term appears in secular writings of setting broken bones. Doctor Paul prescribes the restoration to be done “in a spirit of gentleness". Contained within the list of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) is “gentleness”, which carries the notion of meekness or mildness. Let’s humbly serve one another!
Employment Point: Restore spiritual health to fallen brethren with meekness.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
