Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them (Isaiah 11:6).
Are you anticipating the return of the Prince of Peace?
Isaiah depicts both comings of Jesus. “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). One of the titles for Jesus is “Everlasting Father,” which literally means Father of Eternity. Since God created time, He chose when Jesus would first be born of a virgin and decides when He’ll return a second time to establish worldwide peace. Today, children of God look for the Rapture (Titus 2:13). After the Rapture will be the Tribulation and Jesus’ Second Coming.
Employment Point: Walk with God, anticipating Jesus’ future reign of peace.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
