Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law (Galatians 4:4).
Have you considered the timing and purpose of Jesus’ arrival?
Moses becomes the first biblical writer pointing to the virgin birth. As God addresses Satan for his manipulation of Eve, He says, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed” (Genesis 3:15). Jesus is the seed of woman and seven centuries after Moses writes, Isaiah gives his prediction. “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). Paul cites two purposes of Jesus’ birth. He came “to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:5). Our Lord came to redeem sinners and to give them the status of sons.
