Cooking Up Confidence (Week Four) Sample

Day Seven - I Can Hear from God. 

Yesterday we learnt about how to pray and ask Jesus to help us hear from God. We have learned so much this week about how we can hear from God and how to be sure that it is God we are hearing.  

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3

After the third time that Samuel came to wake him Eli realised that this was probably God speaking.  

Eli told Samuel to go back and lay down.  When you hear the voice again, say: ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.’”

Samuel went back and lay down. Again the voice called his name, “Samuel, Samuel!”

ASK:

Samuel let God know that he wanted to hear Him and made time to hear God speak - maybe we can do the same? 

Maybe this is something you can do with your grownups each day? 

Maybe before bed prayer time?  Maybe during your quiet time together?  

Samuel lay quietly and waited for God to speak. Just as God spoke to Samuel, He wants to speak to you. 

Can you have some quiet time to hear from God today? 

REMEMBER:

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what your word says. 

You can use my words to share your message

You are with me everywhere.
