Cooking Up Confidence (Week Four) Sample

Day Six - I Can Hear from God. 

Yesterday we learnt about how we can pray and ask Jesus to help us hear from God. Today let's look at what we can do to make sure it is God that we hear and not another voice. 

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3

This time Eli began to understand that something special was happening. 

This was not just any voice. This must be the voice of the Lord.

It took Eli and Samuel a little while to realise that they were hearing the voice of the Lord. 

It may also take us a little while to be sure it is God’s voice we can hear. 

ASK:

Maybe we can ask ourselves some simple questions to help us be sure that it is God we can hear:- 

Does this sound like something that God would say? 

Does it remind me of something from the bible? 

Does it help me or bring me closer to Jesus? 

Do my grownups agree that this seems like something God would say? 

Maybe give this a try today? 

REMEMBER:

 Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what your word says. 

You can use my words to share your message

You are with me everywhere.
