Cooking Up Confidence (Week Four) Sample

Day One - I can Hear from God. 

Welcome to our Devotional, we are so glad that you have chosen to journey with us. We believe that the Bible is the greatest news and it is to be shared with anyone, anywhere! Do you know that God can use your words to share His message in ways that your friends will understand. So let’s dive deeper into the bible and see how God’s word is still relevant to our time! 

In our last plan we learnt all about how Samuel served God all of his life from a heart that was full of God’s love. In this plan we are going to be looking at how Samuel heard God’s voice but he was not sure who it was that was speaking to him.

Samuel loved God and loved to help Eli, the High Priest, in the tabernacle of the Lord. 

Eli was old and almost blind so Samuel often stayed near Eli in case he needed something. 

Samuel was growing into a nice young man. The people of Israel noticed how Samuel always tried to do and say the right things. 

Eli was very proud of Samuel.

ASK:

Samuel loved God and loved to help Eli. Remember when our hearts are full of God’s love it is easy to love others. 

Can you think of three people you love? Make a note of their names. 

Now can you pray for them and make a note of anything that you think will help them - maybe you have something that you can say to them or write on a card or letter to encourage them? 

REMEMBER:

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what your word says. 

You can use my words to share your message

You are with me everywhere.
