Cooking Up Confidence (Week Four) Sample

Day Four - I can Hear from God. 

Yesterday we looked at being quiet and making time to hear God. Today let's look at how Jesus often went somewhere quiet to hear from and talk to God. 

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3

A little while later Samuel heard the voice again. “Samuel!” the voice said.

Samuel got up and ran to Eli again. “Here I am, Eli, you called me.” Again, Eli sent him back.

ASK:

How did you get on with sitting quietly yesterday?  Did you hear anything? 

In the Bible, we often see Jesus going to quiet places to be alone to pray. 

In Mark 1:35 ICB it says, Early the next morning, Jesus woke and left the house while it was still dark. He went to a place to be alone and pray. 

Jesus wanted to be able to hear what God had to say to him. 

If Jesus needed to be in a quiet place to talk with God, so do we!

Why not spend some time quietly with God today?

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what your word says.
