River Valley Church SOAP - Part 9Sample

The author of the letter to the Hebrews is unknown, but what we do know about the author is that they assume the reader has a deep knowledge of the Hebrew Scriptures, or our Old Testament, because its themes are referred to a lot in this letter. In these first three chapters, the author is comparing Jesus to Angels, the Torah, and Moses. We’re seeing a core theme of the New Testament play out here, as Jesus is framed as a fulfillment of the Hebrew Scriptures in the way that He plays the role of all its heroes and ideals perfectly.
